Field-led work

Programs built around presence, not packaging.

FLY's work is local and steady: small groups, repeated meetings, and consistent mentorship.

Neighborhood learning clubs

Local chapters / student-centered routines

Volunteers mentor underprivileged students in their own localities - 14 clubs so far - focused on helping students rejoin school or increase attendance by making learning feel approachable again.

What we can say today: this model is how FLY scales humanely - through trusted local hosts, not through a distant "program office."

Cohort-based mentorship

Consistency / accountability / care

Fun Learning Youth uses cohort-based mentorship to reduce dropout among middle-school underprivileged students in India. The cohort is not a buzzword here - it is a commitment to keep showing up as a group, so no student slips out quietly.

Community footprint (as shared publicly): 1200+ students taught across 14 locations in India and abroad, with 50+ volunteers contributing along the way.

Engaging learning sessions

Games / stories / dignity-first teaching

Sessions use gamifying, storytelling, and mentoring - learning should feel alive, not punitive. Volunteers try to be at least one adult who cares about a student's education, health, and wellbeing.

What we hear from the field: steady presence has helped build connection with students - the kind of trust that makes attendance conversations possible.

Recognition and support: local and national newspapers helped spread the word about retention in schools. Supporters funded the work. Volunteers continue to contribute time and advice.
